Recently, Kendrick Lamar opened up about his struggles with depression which even brought suicidal thoughts in his min. He talked about his troubles in a MTV interview for the first time, explaining his actual status.
The fans of the famous rapper had the opportunity to acknowledge at least some of his feelings when he became vulnerable discussing the song “U”, included in his 2015 album To Pimp a Butterfly. Some of his words describe the inner demons he feels fighting with “And if I told your secrets . The world'll know money can't stop a suicidal weakness.” Being asked about their signification, Lamar declared just that the words are coming from his past “I've pulled that song not only from previous experiences, but, I think my whole life, I think everything is drawn out of that.” Getting in the subject, he talked about his troubles, seen back in Compton, California and the struggle which he has trying to cope with not being able to help. Besides that, he also added that he’s trying to get over his survivor’s guild, which he suffers after seeing too many loved ones dying or being killed.
For now, he just seeks to get back in his hometown and be with his remaining dear ones “I gotta get back off that tour bus and go to these funerals... Talk to my mom and talk to their aunties - the kids that lost their lives.”
